Ettus USRP X410 Software Defined Radio Device

The Ettus USRP X410 (Part Number: 787272-01) is a multi-channel software defined radio that integrates radio frequency, processing, and digital interfaces in one half-rack unit device. Operating frequencies range from 1 MHz to 7.2 GHz and can be tuned up to 8 GHz. This SDR has a two-stage superhet architecture and includes four fully independent transmitter and receiver channels, having 400 MHz of instantaneous real-time bandwidth each. The large number of channels and the large bandwidth make it ideal for applications in wireless communications prototyping, spectrum monitoring and analysis, and signals intelligence (SIGINT).

At the core of the USRP X410 is a Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ ZU28DR RF System on Chip (RFSoC), providing the integrated processing system and programmable logic. The ZU28DR features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and FPGA, allowing for stand-alone embedded operation or for operating network streaming hosted on an external computer. The USRP X410 contains 12-bit ADCs and 14-bit DACs intended for high-speed signal processing that can use sampling rates up to 500 MSps. The onboard FPGA contains soft-decision (SD) forward error correction (FEC) IP cores suitable for designing rational wireless communication systems.

The USRP X410 includes a GPS-disciplined oven-controlled crystal oscillator (GPSDO) for synchronizing multiple units by connecting the GPSDO output to the 10 MHz reference clock input and a pulse-per-second (PPS) input. Also included are two QSFP28 interface ports used for interfacing with 10 Gigabit and 100 Gigabit Ethernet, two iPass+ zHD interfaces for PCIe Gen3 x8 communication, and an RJ45 1 GbE port for device management. It is intended for use with the open-source USRP Hardware Driver (UHD) API, version 4.1 or later, as well as the LabVIEW FPGA module that can be programmed for both open-source and proprietary design flows in C++, Python, GNU Radio, and MATLAB.
